Lionel Conrad Clarke crossed an ocean and settled his family in Colton, California, where he worked at the cement plant for decades; his son Richard became an engineer, a Bishop, and the family's first great record keeper, leaving behind a forty-one chapter personal history that anchors this collection. Through Richard's daughter Kathrine (Kandy), the Clarke line joins the Zierenberg family.
